BIHAR FLOOD
🌊 Bihar Flood – A Disaster
Bihar faces devastating floods almost every year due to heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers like Kosi, Ganga, Gandak, and Bagmati. These floods destroy crops, homes, and roads, and force millions of people to leave their villages. Many lives are lost, and property worth crores is damaged.
The main reasons are:
Heavy monsoon rains
Silt deposition in rivers
Weak embankments
Poor drainage systemsTo reduce the damage, the government and NGOs work on flood control, relief camps, and rescue operations, but long-term solutions like better river management and drainage systems are still needed.
